General conclusion

  • This course has gathered three independant chapters:

    1. From weater forecast to engineer applications: general idea of data assimilation and its applications to physical fields

    2. Three simple example of data assimilation: explicit derivation with hands-on for the estimation of various quantities (clock time, hydraulic jump velocity or tank parameters)

    3. Some classical data assimilation method: computation of the gradient of the cost function, BLUE and 4D-Var methods

  • Its constitutes and simple introduction to the field which can be more deeply explored
